Embedded Software Engineer 2 (HIL/SIL Validation)
Job Description
OperAxis is hiring an Embedded Software Engineer 2 for a Heavy Equipment / Industrial Manufacturing client. You'll join a Software Verification & Validation team and develop, run and automate Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing for embedded control systems, using dSPACE, MATLAB/Simulink and Python. Duration: 12 months Requirements • Strong hands-on dSPACE HIL, ECU validation and embedded controls testing • MATLAB/Simulink and model-based development • Python automation, test scripting and data analysis, plus gtest C++ • Solid C or C++ programming • CAN/J1939, UDS diagnostics, and Vector CANoe/CANalyzer • Ability to read schematics and data sheets, set up hardware, and debug • Strong knowledge of the full software development lifecycle • Preferred: ECU integration and system-level verification • Preferred: Test automation framework development and version control • Preferred: Diagnostics, fault injection and validation reporting tools • Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, electrical engineering or a related field
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute HIL/SIL verification test plans for embedded control systems and ECUs
- Configure, operate and troubleshoot dSPACE and Vector based test benches
- Build and maintain automated test scripts, data collection and reporting tools for HIL and SIL
- Analyze defects, run root cause investigations, and support system-level verification of software and hardware integration
- Work with cross-functional software, controls and product teams
