Network Architect (Cisco / SD-WAN / Hybrid Cloud)
Job Description
The OperAxis team is hiring a senior, hands-on Network Architect in Chicago, IL (hybrid) to own data center routing and switching, enterprise WAN and SD-WAN, and hybrid cloud connectivity. This role sits close to the infrastructure and shapes how the network scales, stays resilient and gets automated. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM. What you'll do: - Design, build and support data center routing and switching on Cisco Nexus and Catalyst - Run and improve enterprise WAN and SD-WAN across sites - Engineer hybrid cloud connectivity with Azure ExpressRoute or AWS Direct Connect - Tune BGP and OSPF for performance and resilience - Automate network changes and configuration with modern tooling Requirements: - Bachelor's degree and 10+ years in network engineering - Hands-on Cisco Nexus and Catalyst, BGP and OSPF - Azure ExpressRoute or AWS Direct Connect - Strong background in data center, routing, switching, WAN and network automation Preferred: - Prisma SD-WAN, Cisco NDFC, CCNP-level knowledge - Terraform, Ansible, Python and GitHub
