Oracle Developer (PL/SQL / Java / JavaScript)
Job Description
The OperAxis team is seeking an experienced Oracle Developer for a 10-month contract with a financial services client in Chicago, IL (hybrid, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM). You will work alongside product developers to design, build and maintain high-quality Oracle databases, applications and solutions that meet business requirements. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of Oracle or software development experience, strong SQL and PL/SQL skills, and working knowledge of Java and JavaScript. Requirements: - Must have: Java, JavaScript and Oracle - 3+ years of experience in Oracle development or software development roles - Demonstrable experience with Oracle database development, both manual and automated - Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Oracle Forms and Oracle Reports - Strong understanding of software development methodologies and best practices - Quick problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail - Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work independently; project management skills are a plus - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field Responsibilities: - Design, develop and maintain Oracle databases, applications and systems - Write SQL queries, stored procedures and triggers to support application development - Monitor and optimize database performance - Test Oracle applications thoroughly through manual, automated and exploratory testing - Develop and maintain frameworks for consistent, reliable testing of Oracle products - Identify, report and help fix software defects promptly - Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in Oracle databases and applications - Implement database security policies to protect data confidentiality and integrity - Participate in code reviews and quality assurance, and provide technical expertise to business users
