Job Description
OperAxis is hiring a Senior Embedded C++ / Linux Engineer for a direct client based in Alpharetta, GA. You'll build and maintain high-performance C++ software on embedded Linux, with a strong focus on modern C++, STL containers and multithreaded design. The role is hybrid with a few office visits in Alpharetta, and remote work will be considered for exceptional candidates. Interviews are conducted by video. Requirements • 8+ years of professional C++ development • Very strong with C++ STL containers and multithreading / concurrency • Hands-on modern C++ (C++11/14/17/20) • Experience developing software for embedded Linux environments • Strong debugging, performance and problem-solving skills • No visa restrictions; all U.S. work authorizations are welcome
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and maintain C++ software for embedded Linux platforms
- Write efficient, thread-safe code using modern C++ standards and STL containers
- Build and tune multithreaded components for performance and reliability
- Debug and resolve complex issues across application and system layers
- Take part in design and code reviews and uphold coding standards
- Write unit tests and support integration and system testing
- Document designs and implementation details
- Work with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver features on schedule
