Java Developer

Job Description

OperAxis is partnering with a leading global financial services organization to identify an experienced Java Developer for a fully onsite contract role in Columbus, Ohio. This position centers on backend development using Java and Spring on AWS, with the flexibility to contribute frontend work in React or Angular as needed. This is a W2 contract position, C2C is not available. Candidates must be local to the Columbus area, available for an onsite interview, and authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship (U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or TN visa eligible for Canadian applicants).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Framework
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and integrate with internal systems and data sources
• Deploy, configure, and support applications on AWS cloud infrastructure
• Develop or enhance user interfaces using React or Angular depending on project requirements
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, and continuous integration practices
• Write unit and integration tests, troubleshoot and resolve production issues with minimal downtime
• Follow secure coding standards and maintain compliance with financial services regulations
