Java Developer

Job Description

OperAxis is partnering with a leading global financial services organization to identify a Java Developer for a fully onsite contract role in Wilmington, Delaware. This role is primarily backend focused, approximately 70 percent Java, Spring, and AWS work and 30 percent React frontend support, suited to a developer who can own core services while contributing to lighter frontend tasks. This is a W2 contract position, C2C is not available. Candidates must be local to the Wilmington area, available for an onsite interview, and authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship (U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or TN visa eligible for Canadian applicants).

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain core backend services and microservices using Java and Spring Framework
• Develop secure RESTful APIs and integrate with enterprise data sources and internal platforms
• Deploy and manage application components on AWS
• Provide React frontend support for selected modules, approximately 30 percent of effort
• Participate in Agile delivery, code reviews, and quality gates
• Perform root cause analysis and resolve production issues efficiently
• Apply security best practices and maintain compliance documentation as required
