Cloud Engineer (AEM as a Cloud Service / Vercel / AWS)
Job Description
The OperAxis team is seeking a Cloud Engineer for a 10-month contract with a heavy equipment manufacturing client in Chicago, IL (onsite, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM). You will provide operational support, administration and continuous improvement for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) as a Cloud Service and the Vercel hosting platform used for enterprise web applications, working with a product owner, a team of platform engineers and L1/L2 support teams. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of AWS experience, deep knowledge of AEM architecture, and a track record of leading incident resolution for business-critical applications. Requirements: - Must have: AEM, APIs, CI/CD tools, Incident Management and React - 5+ years of AWS experience - Expertise supporting AEM as a Cloud Service environments, including Dispatcher/CDN configuration, cloud deployments and enterprise integrations - Experience with platform governance, deployment support, monitoring and user access administration - Technical consulting for teams building web apps with Next.js, React, APIs and cloud-native architectures - Experience with monitoring, observability and automation to improve reliability - Bachelor's degree plus 5–7+ years of experience Responsibilities: - Support AEM as a Cloud Service (Author, Publish, Dispatcher, CDN and integrations) and the Vercel hosting platform - Monitor platform health, performance and availability with enterprise alerting tools - Troubleshoot production incidents and deployment failures, and lead RCA and preventive fixes - Participate in on-call support, major incident response and disaster recovery testing - Manage CI/CD pipelines, releases, environment promotions and configuration changes - Administer users, permissions, workflows, certificates, security and compliance - Maintain integrations between AEM and enterprise systems such as DAM, Azure services and CDN - Create runbooks and knowledge articles, and train the team on proactive operational processes - Drive platform maturity, automation and technical debt reduction
