Lead Android Developer (Kotlin / Java)
Job Description
OperAxis is hiring a Lead Android Developer for a direct client based in Alpharetta, GA. You'll lead the design and delivery of native Android applications, set technical direction for the mobile codebase and guide other developers through build, release and support. The role is hybrid with a few office visits in Alpharetta, and remote work will be considered for exceptional candidates. Interviews are conducted by video. Requirements • 8+ years of software development experience, with deep hands-on native Android development • Strong Kotlin and Java on the Android SDK • Experience leading Android projects and mentoring other developers • Solid grasp of mobile architecture patterns, REST API integration, testing and app release practices • Strong communication skills and comfort working with product, design and backend teams • No visa restrictions; all U.S. work authorizations are welcome
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development and delivery of native Android applications
- Set architecture, coding standards and best practices for the Android codebase
- Build new features and maintain existing functionality in Kotlin and Java
- Integrate apps with backend services and REST APIs
- Review code and mentor developers on the mobile team
- Drive testing, performance tuning and app stability
- Manage builds and releases through to the Google Play Store
- Work with product, design and backend teams to plan and estimate work
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues
