Database Administrator

Job Description

We are hiring an experienced Database Administrator to support enterprise-scale database infrastructure for a leading financial services client. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Sybase, DB2, Postgres, Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, and Linux-based environments. This role involves production support, database optimization, troubleshooting, infrastructure maintenance, and collaboration with global IT teams in a high-availability banking environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Database Administration experience
• Strong experience with Sybase ASE, IQ & Replication
• Hands-on experience with UDB DB2 including HADR
• Experience supporting Postgres, Oracle, MSSQL, MongoDB, and Hadoop
• Strong Linux administration experience (RHEL v5/6/7/8)
• Experience with database migrations, upgrades, and maintenance
• Knowledge of Autosys, cron jobs, and bash scripting
• Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
• Experience in banking or financial domain environments preferred
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for enterprise database platforms globally
• Monitor database infrastructure and respond to alerts/issues
• Perform database provisioning and user support activities
• Schedule and maintain jobs using Autosys and cron
• Conduct root cause analysis and implement remediation solutions
• Support business continuity and disaster recovery testing
• Coordinate with application and infrastructure support teams
• Maintain operational policies and procedures
• Support datacenter migration and end-of-life upgrade initiatives
• Ensure adherence to change management processes
