Application Architect (Oracle Accounting Hub / Fusion GL)
Job Description
The OperAxis team is seeking an Application Architect with deep Oracle Accounting Hub Cloud Service (AHCS) and Fusion General Ledger expertise for a 13-month hybrid contract with a banking and financial services client in Chicago, IL (Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM). You will be the functional SME for the design, configuration and implementation of an enterprise Accounting Rules Engine and Oracle Financials GL platform. You will work closely with Finance, Controllers, Accounting Policy and IT teams. The ideal candidate has led Oracle Financials implementations end to end, configures AHCS accounting rules hands-on, and turns complex accounting requirements into clean, auditable designs. Requirements: - Must have: Architect experience, Oracle Financials and Reporting - 8+ years of Oracle Financials implementation experience - 5+ years of hands-on Oracle Accounting Hub (AHCS) experience - Strong expertise in Oracle Fusion General Ledger - Configuring Event-Based and Pass-Through Accounting in AHCS - Enterprise Structures, Intercompany, Allocations, Revaluation and Financial Close design - Strong accounting, reconciliation and financial reporting knowledge - Reporting with OTBI, Fusion Data Intelligence (FDI), SmartView and Financial Reporting - Nice to have: banking experience, large Finance Transformation programs, SOX/audit/regulatory knowledge, multi-source AHCS integrations Responsibilities: - Lead Global Foundation and Enterprise Structure design and optimize GL business processes - Configure Chart of Accounts, Legal Entities, Ledgers and Ledger Sets, Business Units and Balancing Segments - Configure Intercompany Accounting, Allocation Rules, Foreign Currency Revaluation and Period-End Close - Design AHCS accounting rules, accounting events, journal generation and account derivation rules - Design accounting and reconciliation data models and onboard multiple source systems - Design accounting treatments for banking products and transactions - Build financial, reconciliation and management reporting with OTBI, FDI and SmartView - Support fit-gap, SIT, UAT and production deployment, and provide training and knowledge transfer
