Senior Mainframe Capacity & Performance Engineer (IBM zSystems)
Job Description
The OperAxis team is hiring a Senior Mainframe Capacity & Performance Engineer for an onsite contract in Woodlawn, MD, supporting a federal agency client. You'll own performance analysis and capacity planning for a large IBM zSystems environment, forecasting demand, modeling MIPS and keeping critical workloads fast and stable. This role is onsite 5 days a week, and only Maryland local candidates will be considered. Requirements: - Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of IBM zSystems performance and capacity planning - Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance - z/OS and zLinux, including Sysplex, LPAR and Coupling Facility configuration - MIPS modeling, capacity forecasting and load testing - Performance tuning for CICS, DB2, WebSphere, IBM MQ and z/OS Connect - RMF/SMF data analysis, zPCR, and MXG/MICS/SAS reporting - Performance tools such as IntelliMagic, Strobe, Dynatrace and Splunk - JCL Preferred: - Disaster recovery planning and hybrid cloud integration with AWS or Azure
