Job Description
OperAxis is partnering with a leading global financial services organization to identify an Android Developer for a fully onsite contract role in Manhattan, New York. Relocation assistance is available. This role focuses on modern native Android development using Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, and Coroutines, with strong potential for full time conversion. This is a W2 contract position, C2C is not available. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship (U.S. Citizen, Green Card holder, or TN visa eligible for Canadian applicants).
Responsibilities
- Design and develop native Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose
- Implement asynchronous operations and background tasks using Kotlin Coroutines
- Build clean, maintainable UI following modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM
- Integrate with backend APIs and handle data persistence
- Write unit and UI tests, participate in code reviews and quality processes
- Optimize app performance, memory usage, and battery efficiency
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to deliver features on schedule
