IT Project Manager (Infrastructure / PMP)
Job Description
OperAxis is hiring an IT Project Manager for a financial services client in Chicago, IL. You'll lead complex infrastructure technology projects of significant scope, scale and risk, from governance and planning through delivery, working across a matrixed organization. The role is hybrid, Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM, and open to local candidates only. Duration: 10 months, contract to hire Requirements • 7+ years of IT project management experience, leading infrastructure technology projects and teams • PMP or PMI-ACP certification • Waterfall, Hybrid and Agile methodologies, with PMI standards, IT controls, risk and regulatory requirements • Proven ability to lead multiple concurrent projects • General familiarity with infrastructure: servers, storage, network, database and middleware • PPM and delivery tools such as Clarity, ServiceNow, Jira and Azure DevOps • MS Office Suite, including MS Project, SharePoint and Teams • Strong communication, organization and stakeholder management skills • Bachelor's degree • Nice to have: large financial services or regulated industry experience, application development projects, network projects
Responsibilities
- Lead the project team to deliver objectives and benefits, with control of scope, schedule, resources and cost
- Establish governance, roles and responsibilities, phases, deliverables and milestones
- Develop project plans, provide execution leadership and track progress on project goals
- Identify and manage risks and dependencies, including contingency and project health restoration plans
- Ensure adherence to project standards, IT controls, risk and regulatory requirements
- Communicate project status and health, key risks and issues, and their impacts
- Manage stakeholder expectations, motivate the team and plan project resources with stakeholders
- Facilitate working sessions across teams and run the project communication plan
- Escalate decisions, roadblocks and constraints promptly to the right parties
